The images in this series are tied together by shared aesthetic concerns and a very subjective sense of kinship. I intend to suggest an overpowering world of beauty, intense sensation, and raw emotion, both a liberating and nightmarish antidote to the buffered and contingent nature of contemporary life. The images are to be presented as a closely-hung wall of images that envelops the viewer. The works originated with conventional photographic film, which was then scanned and digitally manipulated. The final pieces are digitally output as archival inkjet prints.
